"Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it" - Salvador Dali. I had to google this, I didn't know it. It turns out hundreds of people have hung a blog or an image on these lines, so I am certainly not breaking new ground either. And so what? Why strive to be the first, the best, the hottest? Dali and a thousand others with the same sentiment can't all be wrong. Knowing I won't ever be perfect allows me to take photographs in bad light, with aim a bit off centre. But thats cool because it also gives me permission to delight in fading images, torn or bleeding in the rain. A paste up coming undone makes me want to touch it and draws me further into it. I am not even gonna try to end this blog well. I am just gonna hang the idea out to dry. Bad metaphor and all.
I agree. I am trying to be a bit easier on myself when it comes to my photography too.
