Meandering

Okay I have been Out and About searching for art in obscure places - found some awesome kaff-eine up dead end laneways seems to be beginning to be a trademark of theirs. Some gorgeous Sim2 Mishap - reliably amazing, and predictably some Tres following behind like a younger brother who has been told to keep his distance. Most excellent art on my mind this week though is by Sparcs. Watch this space cos I am on the hunt ! And when I get to the computer will get the link to the Shadow Project exhibition happening soon Feb 4 Walls ... Check out Sparcs on flickr. Sparcs if that link doesn't work I will fix it very soon.

In the meantime, art in obscure places

Something Old Something New Something Vexta Something Blue

Okay truth be known I drank too much and didn't jump out of bed an hit the streets with vigor and enthusiasm. I did stumble down the road coffee in hand and purvey the immediate and obvious in my micro local surrounds, however. Some really cute pastings, doilies, cats ... And a huge Euphoriacs fan, quite prolific! Anyway starting to get interested in Lush so hunted a few down - I don't 'get' lush yet but I wanna ...

Fly From Nearby

Still so far away from the lane-ways I love to frequent, and not strictly remaining on topic, but someone invited me to this THREE SIXTY FIVE DAYS launch and some investigation compels me to pass it on - this kid Oliver Forbes is amazing and inspiring and without fully revealing my age - he is only 22!!!!.  I had been lulled into a false sense of security in the liberal streets of Fitzroy, but homophobia is as real today as ever.

Thank You Vetti

Vetti Live in Northcotte is the sort of blog that would tamper the dose to perfection and as they casually handed you the golden brew, that you probably traveled half an hour out of your way for its that good, would then tell you where the beans were from, name the roasters pet cat and describe their childhood aspirations (the roasters, not the cat)!  I don't know how she does it but I am sure there isn't an artist or art project in Melbourne she is not familiar with.  So yet again, Vetti has named some work I have been hunting down for a while....Junky Projects.  Thank you thank you thank you!

Ghost Patrol

What do you do when you are too far from home to stream live and have all the time in the world? Sort old photos and remember why you fell in love with street art in the first place

Happy New 2011

I have no new pics, no posts, no paste ups...missing the streets but getting back to nature.  Here is something from my backlog of photos to sort...I get a chuckle every time I think of this...the last few words being "should the artists work turn out to have no cultural significance"...

Discoveries

I get a thrill every time I stumble upon one of these, down laneways, in corners, behind poles and posts I dont know if the artists know each other, are the same person even.  There are also the remotes and mobile phones.  Always makes me smile, anyway, like I am the most clever detective in the whole world...
